Teachers across the U!REKA network – are you interested in setting up a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) project focused on a topic of your choice? Join the U!REKA COIL workshop series starting in February 2023. Work with your peers from across Europe to bring your shared idea to life in the classroom in September 2023.

Some 20 students from 10 different disciplines are taking part in the first U!REKA Change Agents programme. On the afternoon of Monday the 19th of September the online kick-off meeting was attended by the “Future Change Agents” and all mentors and staff involved. The Change Agents from Amsterdam, Helsinki and Frankfurt will work on the question: How can we create more public awareness about the sustainable use of water across different European cities, taking into account socio-cultural, health-and climate-related and economic dimensions?

The Urban Research and Education Knowledge Alliance (U!REKA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Odessa National Economic University (ONEU). The agreement outlines the network’s commitment to offer peer support to ONEU, as part of wider European efforts focusing on long-term recovery measures.

The U!REKA network met recently at the annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) Conference in Barcelona, held from 13-16 September 2022.

Across the world, many women and girls are unable to afford or access period products, known as ‘period poverty’. Combined with stigma, this can lead to girls missing school with serious consequences for their futures and life outcomes.

The 6th U!REKA Annual Conference took place from 15 to 17 May 2022, in Ghent, hosted by the HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Over 100 participants from the 7 partner institutions across Europe attended the conference with the theme ‘Strengthening Commonality of Expertise ‘.
