The 6th U!REKA Annual Conference took place from 15 to 17 May 2022, in Ghent, hosted by the HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Over 100 participants from the 7 partner institutions across Europe attended the conference with the theme ‘Strengthening Commonality of Expertise ‘.
During the U!REKA 2022 Conference, students from HOGENT, Lisbon and Frankfurt were joined by teaching and administrative staff from U!REKA partner institutions to discuss student participation within the partnership during a focus session called ‘Student participation in U!REKA. What?!’
U!REKA SHIFT proposal successful in European Commission EUI 2023 programme. The Urban Research and Education Knowledge Alliance (U!REKA) is pleased to announce that its U!REKA SHIFT proposal has been selected by the European Commission for funding in the European Universities Initiative (EUI) call 2023. This means that U!REKA will become an official Erasmus+ co-funded European University Alliance, with an expanded partner network and a common vision of climate neutrality and beyond.
In mid-May, Ghent welcomed a host of participants to the first live U!REKA conference since the pandemic.
The U!REKA Communications Working Group have developed a new visual identity for the U!REKA Network.
At five years old, the U!REKA Network’s growth has been led by grassroots passion and energy for collaboration. Time to look ahead and find ways to build a fruitful future on this strong foundation.
The New European Bauhaus initiative connects the European Green Deal to our communities’ living spaces and experiences, aiming to promote places that are enriching, sustainable and inclusive through creative and interdisciplinary projects bridging science and technology, art and culture.
As universities of applied science, all U!REKA member institutions aim to perform research which has an impact on the world around them. As a Network, we understand the importance of international collaboration to solve the challenges our societies face.
