Networking, planning projects and exploring Lisbon

The ‘ISCAL International Days’ were organised by the Lisbon Accounting and Business School – one of a total of eight schools at the Polytechnic University of Lisbon (IPL). The four-day event centred on a series of conferences, seminars and open lectures. Teachers and university staff from all over Europe used the ISCAL International Days to expand their network, plan joint projects and exchange knowledge.
Highlights included the international research conference ‘New Trends in Research and Innovation II’ on 3 April and a networking walking tour. On this guided tour of Lisbon’s most important sights, participants were able to engage in dialogue with each other and get to know the Portuguese capital better at the same time.
I had the pleasure of giving a guest lecture to a group of international management students on the topic of "The sustainable dilemma: how to navigate the complexities of the global international marketplace" and we both enjoyed a lively discussion. There was also time to explore other ways of working with ISCAL and other universities, such as joint degree programs, measures to intensify reciprocal student exchanges and short-term mobility programs.
