UAS of BFI Vienna hosts U!REKA Rectors’ meeting

The presidents and rectors of the U!REKA universities met in Vienna on 10 and 11 March. The meeting was hosted by the UAS BFI Vienna, which is an associated partner in the U!REKA network. Managing Director Eva Schiessl-Foggensteiner explains in an interview why the university is involved in U!REKA and what opportunities she sees in international cooperation.

What does it mean for the UAS of the BFI Vienna to host the U!REKA Rector’s Meeting?

It is a great honour to welcome the leading representatives of the U!REKA European University here in Vienna. At the same time, it is also a confirmation of our role as a committed partner in the U!REKA network.’

U!REKA connects us with universities that share our vision of a collaborative and highly integrated European higher education area. This European and global perspective is essential for training young people to become responsible specialists and managers of the future.

What links the UAS of the BFI Vienna with the U!REKA network today?

Our university brings in-depth expertise at the interface of digitalisation and business as well as sustainable urban development and the circular economy to the network. With our research initiatives such as affordable housing, circular economy & society or city logistics, we are actively shaping the transformation of urban spaces. At the same time, we promote innovative teaching formats and international exchange in order to optimally prepare students for the challenges of the future.
