Accessible Presentations and Texts for Inclusive Teaching: Using PowerPoint and Word

Thu 2 April 10.00-12.00h am CEST

Content: in this workshop, you will explore important aspects of accessibility and how to apply them to your own teaching materials. Through practical examples and hands-on demonstrations with PowerPoint and Word (Office 365), you will learn how to design documents and slide content that are accessible and supportive of diverse learning needs. The session includes discussions of good and poor examples, as well as guidance on using built-in accessibility tools. By the end, you’ll be able to better identify accessibility issues and create learning materials that are more accessible for all students.

After completion of the workshop participants are able to:

  • Identify key accessibility principles and recognize common barriers in digital learning materials.
  • Compare and analyze accessible and inaccessible document examples to determine what makes inaccessible documents problematic.
  • Apply practical techniques to create accessible presentations and text documents in PowerPoint and Word (Office 365).
Use built-in accessibility tools to detect issues.
