U!REKA staff training: Presentation Skills

This course focuses on developing effective presentation skills that enable participants to confidently deliver engaging and persuasive presentations. The training covers essential aspects of public speaking, including audience analysis, speech structure, visual aids, and body language. Participants will also learn strategies to manage anxiety, handle questions, and use technology to enhance their presentations. Through practical exercises and feedback, learners will refine their ability to communicate ideas clearly and convincingly.

Learning outcomes: 

  1. Structure a Presentation: Develop a clear and logical structure for presentations, including an engaging introduction, informative body, and memorable conclusion.
  1. Analyze the Audience: Tailor presentations to suit the audience’s needs, interests, and level of understanding.
  1. Enhance Delivery Techniques: Utilize effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including tone, pace, gestures, and eye contact.
  1. Design Visual Aids: Create compelling visual aids (slides, charts, graphics) that support and enhance the spoken message without overwhelming the audience.
  1. Manage Presentation Anxiety: Apply techniques to manage nerves and maintain composure during presentations.
  1. Engage with the Audience: Use interactive elements and rhetorical strategies to engage the audience, encourage participation, and maintain attention.
  1. Handle Questions and Feedback: Respond confidently and effectively to audience questions and feedback during and after the presentation.
  1. Use Technology: Leverage presentation software and tools to create professional and impactful presentations.
