Brownfields represent specific structures and locations that are abandoned for various reasons. Usually, the origin relates to the termination of technological processes, a change of owners, but there can be a whole range of reasons. To maintain all principles of sustainability, it is necessary that these structures do not remain abandoned and find their use. From this point of view, the design of meaningful function is key and beneficial not only for owners but also for stakeholders. This will be presented within individual examples, and students will try out such a proposal on a specific case.

The programme connects theoretical knowledge with practical experience and promotes international collaboration, teamwork, and the exchange of different approaches to the development of post-industrial cities.

Upon successful completion of the programme, all participants will receive a Confirmation of Stay and a Transcript of Records (5 ECTS).
