Sustainability coordinator

Course overview

This on-campus, short-intensive programme (March–May 2026, Ghent, Belgium) prepares you to become a sustainability coordinator or advisor within an organisation. You will develop solid expertise in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and immediately apply this knowledge to a real business case.

The programme offers a strong theoretical foundation combined with highly practical skills for implementing, managing and reporting on sustainability in organisations. It is internationally oriented, certified by UNITAR (the training centre of the United Nations), and fully aligned with the European Sustainability Competence Framework.

Course content

The programme consists of the following components:

  • The UN and Sustainable Development: introduction to global sustainability frameworks and the SDGs.
  • SDGs for People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace & Partnerships: four thematic modules exploring each dimension of sustainable development.
  • Circular Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation: principles of the circular economy and innovative sustainability solutions.
  • Change Management & Communication: strategies for leading and communicating organisational change.
  • Measuring & Reporting Sustainability: tools for sustainability metrics, reporting and impact assessment.
  • Project Sustainability Coordinator: an applied project in which students develop a sustainability strategy for a real organisation.
