UAS of BFI Vienna hosts U!REKA Rectors’ meeting

The presidents and rectors of the U!REKA universities met in Vienna on 10 and 11 March. The meeting was hosted by the UAS BFI Vienna, which is an associated partner in the U!REKA network. Managing Director Eva Schiessl-Foggensteiner explains in an interview why the university is involved in U!REKA and what opportunities she sees in international cooperation.

As an associated partner of the European University Alliance U!REKA Shift, the BFI Vienna is actively committed to a shared vision of a collaborative and highly integrated European higher education area that drives change towards climate-positive societies.

Representatives from the partner universities Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Edinburgh Napier University and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences came together in Vienna to set the strategic course for the future of the alliance and strengthen international exchange.

Cooperation with the respective cities is a key component: joint projects with the City of Vienna on affordable housing, circular economy and society and city logistics offered exciting insights into the sustainable transformation of urban spaces.

It is a great honour to welcome the leading representatives of the U!REKA European University here in Vienna. At the same time, it is also a confirmation of our role as a committed partner in the U!REKA network.’

At the same time, we promote innovative teaching formats and international exchange in order to optimally prepare students for the challenges of the future.
