Koen Van Damme, Engagement Leader of U!REKA European University, reflects on two days in February in Brussels to kick off the U!REKA European University project.

The U!REKA Steering Committee met in Helsinki at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences on 12 October 2023 for an extended meeting with the CoCos (U!REKA coordinators) and student representatives.

Maxim van Impe is the chairperson of Revolte, HOGENT’s student council. He is also one of the driving forces behind the creation of a U!REKA student participation council. This Spring, students from U!REKA partners in Ostrava, Amsterdam, Helsinki and Frankfurt worked together on an interdisciplinary challenge on this question, culminating in a visit to the Czech Republic.

Special guest Zita Pels, Deputy Mayor for the City of Amsterdam responsible for Sustainability and Circular Economy, opened the U!REKA Connects 2023 event on 31 May at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS).

Roxanne Van de Voorde is chair of the HOGENT student council Revolte and about to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management. During the U!REKA Connects 2023 networking event she was one of the speakers during the plenary opening, calling for the creation of a U!REKA student board.
