U!REKA European University is proud to announce the new U!REKA Awards for co-creation, inclusion and boldness – celebrating the extraordinary individuals and teams who embody the spirit and values of our alliance.
One of the teams of the U!REKA Alliance of European Universities also includes Monika Maňáková. She is responsible for the implementation of stakeholder and student engagement within U!REKA.
The alliance of European universities U!REKA has connected students of the Faculty of Economics of VSB-TUO and the Amsterdam School of International Business AUAS within a joint project COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning).
The HOGENT International Days, which took place from 26-28 March, welcomed over 120 participants from more than 20 higher education institutions from the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Switzerland, Albania, Finland, Poland, Vietnam and others. U!REKA Staff Trainings were included in the programme.
The geopolitical situation in Europe has changed and future developments are difficult to predict. This situation challenges European actors to reflect on their role and influence. At their recent meeting on the 10th & 11th of March, the rectors of U!REKA considered the role U!REKA can play in this current political situation and wanted to share their thoughts in an open letter to the colleagues and students of their institutions. Prof Dr Jens Liebehenschel combines several goals in his innovation professorship: Together with Master’s students from Frankfurt UAS and HOGENT, he is developing a computer science learning tool over the course of several semesters. He combines this practical task with the supervision of Bachelor students. While he slips into the customer role for the learning tool and thus drives the project forward, the Master’s students gain their first valuable teaching experience.
The presidents and rectors of the U!REKA universities met in Vienna on 10 and 11 March. The meeting was hosted by the UAS BFI Vienna, which is an associated partner in the U!REKA network. Managing Director Eva Schiessl-Foggensteiner explains in an interview why the university is involved in U!REKA and what opportunities she sees in international cooperation.
At the beginning of February 2025, Frankfurt UAS scientists welcomed Prof Dr Petr Machník, professor of Computer Science at the Technická univerzita Ostrava.
