A new one-semester programme is on offer: Sustainability Coordinator.

One major milestone of the U!REKA European University is the set-up of a joint virtual campus environment to offer learning opportunities in the fields of Green Transition, Digital Transition as well as Transversal Skills. Digital learning journeys, blended learning offers or on-sight trainings will be used to share relevant insights. We will tailor-make the offer to meet the demands of our target groups.

The transition of cities and regions towards climate neutrality requires broad cooperation and commitment from all stakeholders. On 9 October, rectors of U!REKA partners got together in Brussels to discuss and move forward.

SIA (Dutch research funding agency) has awarded funding to AUAS to build up international research on smart buildings in the coming 1.5 years. The funding is specifically intended for research in collaboration with U!REKA partners.

U!REKA held a two-day workshop in Helsinki, Finland, on 26–27 September 2024. In the workshop, colleagues from different partner universities discussed what kind of features U!REKA’s joint campus should have and how those features could be designed and implemented.

Partner institutions AUAS, Frankfurt UAS, Metropolia UAS and VSB-TUO Ostrava have received the grant from the Driving Urban Transitions partnership for a study into Positive Energy Districts (PED): 4A4PEDs.

The award has been presented during the 2024 EAIE conference in Toulouse, France. Eva Haug has trained a lot of higher education professionals over the last 4 years in the U!REKA network. We congratulate Eva with this deserved recognition!

14 new European University alliances are joining the 50 previously selected alliances and will receive up to €14.4 million each over a period of four years. The U!REKA European University welcomes this announcement, which will raise opportunities for international cooperation in higher education.
